Over the ages, much has been said about the relationship between our state-of-mind and the present moment; living in the here and now. But what does bringing your attention into the moment have to do with managing your state-of-mind?

Your brain has the capacity to take you into the future and past, which can be a blessing and a curse. For example, projecting into the future gives you the power to plan and create.

However, it can also be a curse when you allow the chatter-in-your-head to take you there…and beat you up with “what if” questions you can’t answer. What if you lose your job? What if you can’t pay your bills? What if you fail the test? What if? What if?

When your chatter grows tired of asking these fear-based future questions, it will drag you into the past to point-out all the stupid mistakes you’ve made and opportunities you failed to take advantage of, which raise a question.

How do you manage the chatter-in-your-head that wants to bounce-you-around…between the future and past? Physics teaches that two objects cannot occupy the same place at the same time. This also applies to your spiritual/psychological world. Two thoughts, for example, cannot occupy the same place at the same time.

The next time your chatter turns-up the stress, here’s a strategy that may help, which you can preview, right here, right now by clicking on…THE FUTURE IS WHERE FEAR RESIDES AND PAST IS WHERE REGRET IS ALIVE.Â
